Mark Richardson, CMEA, CM&AA, CBB, CMA, MBA, CSBA

J. Mark Richardson has extensive experience in appraisal, business valuation and sales, financial consulting, mergers, acquisitions and raising capital for growing businesses. He works directly and confidentially with business owners to assist them with asset appraisal business valuation and the sale of their companies.

After several years as a CFO for a large company, Richardson leveraged on his experience and skills by starting his own business. He knew he could help other business owners receive the maximum value for their company because this is the unique skill he provided in the corporate world – for business owners. Today, Richardson provides his clients with the financial and marketing expertise that they expect when selling their business, maintaining the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality. His clients discover that they can rely on someone who has the experience of selling a company, and that it is not necessary to take on this challenge alone.

Richardson and his firm is experienced having held the title and position of Controller and Chief Financial Officer for more than twenty firms, with annual revenues ranging from $100M to $100MM. With an emphasis on business valuation and equipment appraisal, acquisitions and business sales, Richardson provides these services to business-minded people, including manufacturers, wholesalers retail distributors, real estate and financial services firms, importers/exporters, trucking companies, printing, hardware, food processing, and telecommunications companies. Clients appreciate the transportability of knowledge and skills across this diversified base of experience, and never feel like they are part of a "template" solution.

Richardson conducts appraisal and business valuation seminars, and teaches college-level courses. He is a professional facilitator and privately consults with corporate management teams looking to expand their companies through acquisition. He remains current on new business valuation and appraisal methods, management philosophies and tax issues by being an active member of the Alliance of Mergers and Acquisition Advisors and The Association for Corporate Growth. Richardson supports his trade associations through speaking engagements, seminars and peer reviews.

Mr. Richardson is also affiliated with the National Equipment & Business Brokers Institute. His association is valuable to his clients because this group specializes in equipment appraisal and sales and the network of equipment appraisers and brokers gives Richardson the most current information, sourcing and data available on both a regional and national basis, resulting in highly accurate and reliable equipment appraisals.

A graduate with a finance degree from the University of Notre Dame (1972), Richardson earned his MBA in accounting from the California State University, and went on to obtain his Certified Management Accounting credential (CMA) in 1982. In 1987, Richardson obtained certification in Personal Financial Planning from the University of California. In 2005, the Alliance of Merger and Acquisition Advisors awarded Richardson the prestigious designation “Certified Merger and Acquisition Advisor.”

As a licensed California Real Estate broker, Richardson facilitated numerous business acquisitions, valuations, business opportunities, and lease negotiations. His company is an affiliate of Broker’s Network Group and he is a past member of the Affiliate Advisory Council for The Business Brokers Network, the nation’s largest independent association of business transfer specialists. He has also served on the Board of Directors for the Institute of Certified Business Counselors. Today Richardson continually works to improve and expand the membership networks that have helped him be one of the most successful business brokers in the industry.

Mark Richardson, CMEA, has been awarded the CMEA designation (Certified Machinery/ Equipment Appraiser) by the NEBB Institute.  CMEAs are located throughout the United States and several foreign countries, and are used by banks, other lending institutions, CPAs, attorneys, business buyers/sellers and others to provide needed financial information for a variety of reasons.
